But now, can you imagine how happy you would feel when someone sends you a greeting card? Or better a handmade card that they have made with a lot of effort just for you. Oh yes, the feeling is awesome when you receive gifts, but making and sending cards to each other on Christmas is even better. This is because you can actually write down your wishes, sign the card and send it to your loved ones. Handwritten and handmade cards are very special, indeed. So why don’t you try making Christmas cards this year? Why not make cards for your friends and family and send or hand them over during the celebrations. We are sure their eyes will light up and they will feel very touched too. Why not buy cards? Alright, you can go to a store and buy a ready-made card. Or order online and get it delivered to your family and friends’ addresses. It’s too easy to just order or buy something, isn’t it? However, in this process, your own creativity and personal feelings may go missing. Also, most of the cards look the same and the people receiving them may get bored or ignore them. Instead, why not make cards at home this season. They are extremely easy to make and you could use your imagination to make them as wonderful and meaningful as you like. Besides, your personal effort will add so much value to the card that your family and friends will surely want to keep them carefully even after the Christmas celebrations are over. It is very rare that someone throws a handmade card into the trash bin. How to make a Christmas card for family and friends Let’s get creative here. You can make the card of any shape, size or color you like. You can draw, paint or stick designs. You can have different themes or use craft ideas that you might have learnt during online school or at home in the past few months. To help you out a bit, we are sharing a few card-making ideas with you. Of course, you can try them or add more too. Draw and paint
  1. Thumb painting – This is really a lot of fun to do. Draw a Christmas Tree or Santa on the card and paint it using your thumb. Apply paint on your thumb and place it on the card to fill in the color on the design. You can also make holly designs, reindeer paintings and more with your thumb too.
  2. Brush painting – Do you have an old toothbrush at home? All you need to do is cut out the shapes of the designs you want on your card. Maybe a star or a family photograph. Place it on the paper and hold it tight. Now dip your old brush in some paint and run your thumb over the blades of the brush. Try and use bright colors and keep spraying as many as you like. Wait did you just see what happened? The paint sprinkles itself beautifully. Now gently lift off the cut out. You will see sparkling drops of paint surround the shaped design or photograph. Something that looks like shiny Christmas lights!
Crafts and cuts You can make your card special by crafting and sticking colored paper, ribbons, or any other tiny bits. Let’s give you a few ideas.
  1. Hand cuts – Draw the palms of each hand with fingers spread out on a paper. Now paste the cut out hands side by side. Does it look like the wings of an angel? Yes! Draw a face or stick a tiny ring and let your angel send greetings to your loved ones!
  2. Cotton Santa – Santa Claus is the most loved during Christmas. Because of course, he gets us so many wonderful gifts. So why not make a Santa card. Draw Santa’s round face on your card. Now stick his eyes and cut out his red cap. And finally, take cotton and glue it in place of his beard and moustache. Oh wow, we are sure your Santa looks cuddly and so cute.
  3. Crushed balls – Take colored papers, crush them and roll them into small balls. Here, your little colored balls are ready. Now you can stick them in any way you like! Stick them on your Christmas Tree card as decorations, or make hollies out of them, or paste them inside the reindeer drawing.
